Gal Viharaya

The Gal Vihara (Sinhala: ගල් විහාරය), also known as Gal Viharaya and originally as the Uttararama, is a rock temple of the Buddha situated in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was fashioned in the 12th century by Parakramabahu I. The central feature of the temple is four rock reliefstatues of the Buddha, which have been carved into the face of a large granite rock.

Pothgul Viharaya

This is a small complex that sits to the south of the main Polonnaruwa complex. The site contains a main circular brick image house with a sandstone door frame, that has 4 small dagobas around it. It is thought that the main building was a library for sacred texts.

Parakrama Samudraya

Parakrama Samudra is a shallow reservoir, consisting of five separate reservoirs connected by narrow channels in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The northernmost reservoir is the oldest and referred to as Topa wewa built around 386 AD.

Hatadagaya

Hatadage is an ancient relic shrine in the city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. It was built by King Nissanka Malla, and had been used to keep the Relic of the tooth of the Buddha. The Hatadage had been built using stone, brick and wood, although only parts of the brick and stone walls now remain
